Negro che, negro usted. Quince años después
Heads up: this title uses a word that can hurt. It's shown as the filmmakers wrote it; some films like this were made by the communities the word targets.
80 min · Directed by Alberto Masliah
Release date not announced
A documentary that follows the recording of a collective album and a concert by artists of African descent, in tribute to Pocha Lamadrid, a leading figure in Afro-Argentine activism who, years earlier, pushed for that music to be recorded: Buenos Aires candombe and the rhythms kept alive in neighborhoods such as San Telmo, Dock Sud and La Matanza. The project brings together the protagonists of Negro Che, los primeros desaparecidos, an earlier documentary about the Afro-Argentine community’s struggle against its own invisibilization.
