"a study of high-art writhing. Carole Morell writhes as if she were born to writhe in movies; writhes like a movie star among flickering candles and smouldering camera movement. Avocada has a percussive Peruvian soundtrack. It is steeped in blue green shadows. It is incomparable and nutritiously beautiful. It is a film possessed of gilded glamour"
