Hedin has actively advocated against the presence of wolves in Swedish forests, describing them as pests. His company has introduced the term "Hedinröjning," which translates to "En ungskog utan vargar," where "vargar" metaphorically represent "starkt förväxande träd." In 2021, he was acquitted in court of charges related to illegal wolf hunting, including allegations of supplying poison to kill wolves. During the legal process, which began in October 2018, he wrote the book Maktmissbruk – ett hot mot demokratin.
