Elsie Lean

Elsie Lean (she/they) is a recent graduate of Bristol Film School (Boomsatsuma) where she specialised in writing and directing short form fiction and producing client films. With a background in devised theatre, it is important for Elsie that directing is a collaborative process and her sets are a place where everyone feels comfortable, safe, and equal. In 2026 Elsie wrote, directed, and produced a short film for AARDMAN, which they greenlit for their 50th anniversary exhibition at the M Shed museum, Bristol. Her films have been screened at various BAFTA-qualifying film festivals in the UK including Encounters and Cambridge FF.
